Session 1 Workshops
Enhance your knowledge of teaching gender in your classroom with a detailed 10-month Gender Diversity curriculum for Early Childhood and Lower Elementary classes. This curriculum can be implemented as presented or adapted to meet the needs of your individual school or classroom. We will also discuss current terminology, the importance of pronouns, the prepared environment, and how to communicate with families. Resources for supporting teachers and families will be provided.
Sara Bloomberg, Terri Hennessy
Sara Bloomberg, MA, is a social advocacy and diversity Montessori trainer who has worked as a consultant and teacher educator. Sara is a member of the AMS Board of Directors. They opened a private Early Childhood Montessori school as well as an Early Childhood division at a public charter school. Sara is NYS-certified. AMS-credentialed (Early Childhood).
Terri Hennessy is a classroom teacher at Philly Montessori in Philadelphia PA. She is also a gender diversity consultant for 3 – 6 classrooms, a Montessori consultant, and a Montessori teacher trainer. AMS-credentialed (Early Childhood).
