Spotlight Presentation: Contemporary Indigenous Existence: Stop Erasing Our Children
Friday, March 05 | 03:45 PM - 04:30 PM
The number one issue that Indigenous people deal with today is erasure. Erasure is racism and exacerbates all other issues that Indigenous children and their communities face. This session will address the following questions: In what ways has the Montessori community been complicit? What are actions Montessori educators can begin taking to address this erasure? What actions must start with one’s self? What actions must we take in the classroom? At the school/organizational level? At the Montessori materials level?
