School Accreditation Team-Member Training

If you are a staff member of an AMS-accredited school, you have the opportunity to volunteer on accreditation visiting teams that verify the self-study of candidate schools. Being on a team visit is a unique opportunity that provides valuable professional development for teachers and administrators. In this workshop, we will discuss the “do’s and don’ts” of being a team member. You will learn what is expected of each member, the process of writing a team report, and the professional benefits of being an accreditation team member.

Melanie Thiesse, MEd is AMS director of school quality & accreditation. AMS-credentialed (Elementary I). NCME-credentialed (Elementary I – II).

Brenda Huth is head of school at St. Joseph Montessori School, in Columbus, OH, and a member of the AMS School Accreditation Commission. AMS-credentialed (Early Childhood, Elementary I).

Brette Rothfield is business manager at Alexander Montessori School in Miami, FL, and a member of the AMS School Accreditation Commission.

Michelle Seyller is assistant head of school at Thacher Montessori School in Milton, MA, and a member of the AMS School Accreditation Commission. Montessori-credentialed (Early Childhood).

Muriel Owens is a co-director of Maitland Montessori School in Maitland, FL, and a member of the AMS School Accreditation Commission.
