Fostering Teachers’ Emotional Competencies with Ecopsychology & Eco-Art Therapy

Learn the basic frameworks of ecopsychology and eco-art, therapeutic techniques that use proximity to nature as emotional support. Discover how they relate to Montessori education and explore how they can help you to assess your self-efficacy beliefs and improve your emotional competencies. You will also come away with concrete ideas for using these techniques to release stress and balance your emotional state.

Marién A. Peña, PhD, is an educator and artist with 20 years of experience in the field. She currently serves as field consultant and art teacher for Maitland Montessori School and Maitland Montessori Teacher Education Program, both in Maitland, FL. She is a founding member of Art for Living, Inc, a non-for-profit organization that seeks to create awareness through art and provide tools for healing. AMS-credentialed (Early Childhood, Elementary I, Elementary II).
