Join the co-chairs of the AMS Research Committee for a high-level summary of research related to Montessori theory and practice, and to learn how you can stay up to date on research on your own.

Janet Bagby, Jan Davis Mallett

Janet Bagby, PhD, is a senior lecturer in the Educational Psychology Department at Baylor University in Waco, TX. She currently serves on the AMS Board of Directors, is a co-chair of the AMS Research Committee, and a reviewer for the Journal of Montessori Research. Her research interests include executive function within Montessori environments and aligning Montessori with best practices in education.

Jan Mallett, PhD, is currently a research assistant professor at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, TX, teaching master-level graduate education classes. She served more than 30 years as a Montessori teacher and administrator in Dallas public schools. She is co-chair of the AMS Research Committee and is on the Advisory Board of Lumin Education. Her research interests include outcomes of Montessori education.
